=====================================================================

Rain poured down continuously in the town of Tao, it only started recently which one might find strange, for only a few hours ago a vicious blizzard had just ended. Although none were complaining, as rain didn't seep its cold claws through the insulation of the housing here, at least not most housing.
In this particular night only two pokemon were 'out and about' in today's rainstorm. And eevee and a zangoose were standing outside an old wooden office used by the town's registrar in were they will sign up to join one of three guilds in Tao, and having just arrived, they are hesitant to enter.
After a bit of an awkward silence, the zangoose knocks and the door quickly opens.

"Come in, come in! My goodness, come in! I can't believe you've all been waiting outside in the rain all this time! You could have knocked earlier, you know!" The two pokemon were greeted by a third, a dully gray colored Ninetales, who was now staring down at the Eevee and Zangoose.

"Oh hello," piped up the eevee. She was slightly confused by the Ninetales peppiness, but thought little of it at the time. "Well, um…, hi." She was given a glance by her partner, but he didn't make any other response besides that.

"My name is Callahan, or Calla, for short. I'm the guild registrar, you know. I'm quite good at it!" He was still smiling, and neither of the two thought it was because two soaking wet pokemon arrived at his doorstep; something in his smile wasn't exactly …welcoming.

"Well…, Calla," The zangoose said who was just as confused as his partner. "It's nice to meet you, may we come in?" Callahan gestured for them to enter.

"Oh, please allow me to take your belongings; they're all wet! I'll just hang them in front of the fireplace to dry as we go over the formalities." He swiftly removed the pokémon's accessories and hung them near the fire place before the two could protest.

"Wait! Um…," The eevee was mulling over what to say, but couldn't think of one before Callahan responded.

"No worries, I promise I won't burn them, it might set my office on fire! Wouldn't won't that would we!?" The two didn't respond to that, but they were starting to understand the Ninetales previous comments. "And the paperwork, of course! There will be a lot of that, don't you worry one bit!"

They wondered why he was so happy about paperwork, but made no comment.

"You do have the forms that we've mailed you filled out, yes?" They both nodded. "That does always make things go much quicker, here."

The zangoose handed Callahan the drenched pieces of paper he kept in the fur of his tail, the same paper that 'was' their forms. "Aw, crap." Muttered the eevee. Her partner showed equal distain as he gazed upon the ruin forms, but Callahan didn't.

"What's this? These forms are soaking wet…, and the ink has run! Goodness, we're in for a lot more paperwork than I could have hoped to dream of!"

"Well…," They were both stumped by this, but the zangoose tried his best to respond, as he and his partner had been very quiet. "You're welcome, I think." Sadly, the Ninetales ignored him.

"No matter, I have spare forms, and all the time in the world! I trust you have no pressing appointments yet, so I'll write down your information now." He started to walk over to a desk beyond the fireplace, one which the two others hadn't noticed yet.

"Well, he's sure interesting." The eevee said sarcastically. "So, Ralph, how long do you think 'all the time in the world' is?"
Ralph glanced at Callahan for a moment then sighed. "Well, I have a few guesses, Myla, and I'm pretty sure you do too."

Callahan returned his gaze to Ralph and Myla. "With your help, of course."

They both groaned.

"Let's get right down to it, shall we? My fastest time for entering a team in the official guild registrar is a touch under a few hours; let's see if we can break the record!" They hoped he was kidding.

"All right now... names, please?"

"I'm Myla, and this is Ralph." She answered gesturing appropriately.

"Ahh... what... commo- er, good names you all have! How do you spell them?"

"M-l-y-a, and his is R-a-l-p-h." Ralph waved at Callahan as his name was jotted down, but Callahan showed now reaction.

What alias do you wish to give you lot of fellows? I hope it's something good! I've been so bored by Pokemon insisting to use a name like "Team Awesome" or anything of the sort. More like "Team Mediocrity," I like to think! I'm sure you have a much more original name."

"We're team Fast Act, because we get things done fast!" Myla closed her eyes and smiled, as Ralph rolled his eyes at the hypocrisy of that sentence, as Myla never got things done on time.

"I knew you wouldn't let me down!" The Ninetales was evidently glad that they didn't choose 'Awesome.' "And…, done. All right! Next topic!" He beamed at Myla.

"You there, lad! You seem to be the leader of the team, here. Why don't you tell me about yourself? Please make it interesting! I'm not filing a police report, you know. I don't get paid for this, either. I do it for the stories people tell! Everyone has a story! However, I do hope yours isn't filled to the brim with angst and darkness, you know. We have enough of that as it is with the recent crises we've been going through, if you insist on weaving a yarn of incredible sadness and general malaise, please make it good. I'll discern the necessary details from your story and put it down in the log book here."

"W-Well," Myla stuttered slightly. She glanced at Ralph, who gave her a 'go ahead' look, and started telling Callahan her story. "Well, first things first, I'm not sure exactly where I was born. My parents were always moving around, living solely on food they traded with or foraged for; so really it could have been anywhere. At one point when I was older, I started to bore of the life of constant travel, and I decided to give myself a home. So one time, my parents had managed to rent a room at an inn, and I managed to impress the owner as I was constantly helping around the inn, and one day he invited me to stay a little longer, and I accepted."
She glanced at Ralph for a second, who smiled, as he knew what happened next. Myla sighed before continuing again. "Well, during that last major blizzard that happened earlier, a bunch of people at the inn got sick, so the owner asked me to go to Tao, and get some medicine. But before I go two feet out, I see this guy unconscious in the snow." Ralph chuckled lightly and it sounded slightly between good-hearted and embarrassed, probably more of the latter. "And, well…, after a rather long exhibition into getting the medicine, I decided to team up with Ralph and join a guild." Myla finished, while she smirked slightly while reflecting on their little quest to get medicine.

"What an experiencing tale! I can see why you'd probably like to join the merchant's guild!

"Yes we-wait, Merchants?" Myla asked more to herself than to Callahan. "Why would be join the Merchants guild? Trust me, we aren't merchant material, and no," She said as the fox lifted his head to respond. "we're not Rescuers either, we find some of the things the Rescuers do boring and restricted." He marked that down, but otherwise ignored her.

"And you there, lad, what is your story? Your leader has done an excellent job of keeping me awake at this late hour; I hope you do the same!"

Ralph waited a bit before starting, trying to choose his words so even Callahan couldn't find a joke in it. "Well, like Myla here, I also was a traveler, but the difference is that I enjoyed it! You see, I've always liked traveling, I've learned so many things while doing it, and heard so many tales! Of course, unlike Myla, my parents weren't too big on traveling. It has been awhile since I've seen them, oh they still send me letters from some far-off village in the north, but they are so very far away." Ralph stopped himself, before he started rambling.
"Anyway, there came a time when I too, found that traveling started becoming a burden. I couldn't afford food at times, and I was running out of ideas for making money. That was when I decided to go someplace where I could settle down, but still get the feeling of adventure! So when I heard of Tao, I decided to check it out, and well, you know the rest." Ralph glanced at Callahan, but again his expression was the same.

"Very well, then! It seems I have all I need in order to register you here in our peaceful Tao Village! If during your travels you decide to recruit or add on an extra member to your team, please have them visit me and fill out the necessary info at the top."
"I don't think I'll keep you here any longer; I have everything I need from you! I haven't broken any records for time tonight, though. Your story took up quite a bit of it! Time to conclude our business here!"

The fox started to usher them out of his building, he almost didn't give them a chance to claim their stuff, but Ralph grabbed them as they were hurried out of his office, and dumped them back into the rain.
"So," Ralph muttered as he looked back at the registrar's building. "What was the point of drying them if we were just going to get them wet again?" As Ralph's question lay unanswered in the air, the two pokemon went home.
Well, after some trouble, I finally got around to updating Team Fast Act's app [link] maybe I'll finally start a new mission, which hopefully won't turn out as badly as mission 5.
